Honored Master of Sport (Zasluzhenny master sporta) is the highest athletic title in Russia's sports ranking system. It is reserved for top international results such as Olympic medals, World Championship gold, or world records. This title is rare and represents the pinnacle of athletic achievement recognized by the Russian state. Recipients are considered national sporting heroes.
